Steak Diane (dairy free, gluten free, paleo)

One of my favorite places I have been to is Paris, and part of the reasons why I loved it so much was the food! Well you don’t have to go to Paris for a high end tasting steak dinner, you can have it right at home. This is why this one is of my favorite recipes. You get that expensive steakhouse taste without the expensive steakhouse, and it is very simple to make. It is also free from dairy and gluten. This recipe is perfect for special occasions like birthdays, valentines day, etc. If you love steak as much as I do, you have to try this one.

Main Dishes, dairy-free, gluten free, paleo

Ingredients

  • 2 8oz steak filets or choice of steak

  • 1 tbsp. lemon juice

  • 2 tsp. dijon mustard

  • 1 tbsp. coconut aminos or soy sauce (if using soy sauce decrease salt)

  • 3 tbsp. dairy free butter or ghee

  • salt & pepper

  • fresh minced parsley for garnish

Instructions

  1. Season steaks with salt and pepper on each side. Heat 1 tbsp. butter in frying pan. Sear the steaks on both sides, then reduce heat, and keep cooking steaks until the desired temperature. Once steaks are cooked remove them from pan.

  2. Add 2 tbsp. of butter to a sauce pan and whisk in dijon mustard, aminos, pinch of salt if using coconut aminos, and lemon juice. Heat on medium heat and whisk until sauce is smooth. If you are cooking more than 2 filets, you can double the recipe to make more sauce.

  3. Pour sauce over steaks and garnish with fresh parsley.
